Claude Sonnet 4.6 released: Same price as Sonnet 4.5, significant improvements

Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 4.6, the balanced mid-tier model. Sonnet 4.6 supports a 1M token context window, 64k max output tokens, and all existing Claude API features including extended thinking.

Pricing remains the same as Sonnet 4.5: $3 per 1M input tokens and $15 per 1M output tokens, making it an excellent value upgrade for developers and businesses.

Sonnet 4.6 is the recommended model for most use cases: fast enough for real-time applications, capable enough for complex reasoning, and affordable for high-volume usage.
